RCEMA Skywarn Radio Frequencies

Skywarn Rogers County falls under the jurisdiction of the National Weather Service Tulsa Office. The frequency for the NWS Tulsa Weather Radio is 162.550. If you have the Real Networks player plugin, you can listen to the Tulsa NWS Weather Radio here.

The RCEMA Commercial Repeater Frequency is 155.085. We use the Rogers County Wireless Association's ( RCWA ) Amateur Radio repeater, located in Claremore, OK for our Amateur Radio spotter communications. This frequency is 147.090+. We also monitor the Tulsa Skywarn Amateur Radio Frequencies of 146.880- and the 70cm National Weather backbone frequency of 443.850. The use of the local 70cm repeater 444.350 may be added in the future, but it is not used for Skywarn at this time.

CB:
We are presently considering monitoring the 11 meter band (CB) for those spotters having access to CB radios. Currently we are considering using channel 7 for CB spotter communications due to it's proximity to the emergency channel 9, and switching to channel 19 for trucker reports.

CB UPDATE:
Although it has not been completely decided to rule out this service, the simple fact that this service has so much ambient noise that would add to the already high confusion levels in the EOC communications center, that it looks doubtful that CB service will be used.

FRS:
We have considered using the Family Radio Service (FRS) radios, but have decided against using it due to its limited coverage.
