Catoosa Tornado 1993

Catoosa, OK - April 24th, 1993


   “At around 6:00pm, this twister came down out of the sky, and took on Catoosa.”

   The tornados that hit Catoosa, Oklahoma, were numbered OK93-7 and OK93-8. The oldest, 93-7 was born at 17:50 CST while it's younger sibling was born seven minutes later. The younger tornado, 93-8, had no fatalities but it did manage to injure 30. On the other hand, 93-7, lived up to it's number and killed seven and injured 100 people before it was finished. 93-7, an F4, ran for six miles while 93-8, an F3, ran two miles further. Each had a 250 yard swath.

   Catoosa is a Northeastern Oklahoma town just outside of the city limits of Tulsa to the Northeast.
