Withdrawal

WITHDRAWAL OF CANDIDACY.....Any candidate may withdraw his candidacy only by filing written notice of withdrawal no later than 5 p.m. on Friday  following the close of the filing period.

WITHDRAWAL FROM RUNOFF PRIMARY.....A candidate may withdraw from the Runoff Primary Election only by doing so before 5:00 p.m. on Friday,  following the date of the Primary Election.

WITHDRAWAL FROM GENERAL ELECTION.....A candidate in the General Election may withdraw his candidacy upon filing a written notice of withdrawal no later that 5:00 p.m. on Friday  following the date of the Runoff Primary Election.

FORM OF WITHDRAWAL.....The written notice shall state, "I (Name), hereby withdraw as a candidate for (Office)." The notice shall be signed, dated and notarized by a Notary Public. A form is available at the Rogers County Election Board. Any candidate who withdraws his candidacy forfeits his/her filing fee.


Contest of Candidacy

CONTEST OF CANDIDACY.....Must be filed by 5 p.m. Friday following the close of the filing period.

DEPOSIT REQUIRED..... A contest of candidacy petition must be accompanied by a deposit of $250.00, which must be either a certified check or cashier's check.


Order of Names on the Ballots

Primary Election.....The order in which the name of each candidate for each county office shall appear on absentee ballots is determined by lot draw on Friday following the filing period at 5:00 p.m. at the county election board.

Runoff Election.....The name of the candidate who received the highest number of votes in the Primary Election shall appear first on the absentee ballots.

On all Primary and Runoff Primary Election regular ballots, the names of the candidates for each office shall be rotated in such a manner that all candidate's names appear in each position of said ballots an equal number of times.
